Update billing with NIPSCO for gas and electric.

The last thing you want is the utilities getting shut off because you forgot to pay the bill.

Here are the 2 tragic scenarios we see all the time when the utility bill is forgotten

  • It rains, but the sump pump does not have any electric so the basement or crawl space fills with water. Once the water gets in, the problems just accumulate from there.
  • The weather drops below freezing and the gas was turned off so the furnace doesn't turn on. The water in the pipes freeze and cause 1 little crack. Unfortunately, that little crack causes major damage when the ice melts and the water starts flowing freely.

You don't want to be 1 of those 2 common scenarios so you will need to call NIPSCO and explain the situation. You can either change the service to your name and start making the payments or ask them to send a copy of the bill to your address.

You can contact them at 1-800-4NIPSCO. It will be helpful to have a copy of a previous utility bill when you call so you can verify account information.
